Account information: your email address, your password (stored encrypted), and your display name.

Optional information: your bio, region, display language and profile picture.

Records you enter: beetles, lineages, pairings, measurements and photographs.

Messages you send us: your name, reply address and the message itself.

Information recorded automatically: access times, browser type and similar technical records.

To identify you and let you log in.

To store your records and show them on screen.

To reply to your messages.

To detect and prevent misuse.

To investigate faults.

We do not use it for anything else.

Supabase (database, login, photo storage): data is stored in the Tokyo region, in Japan.

Vercel (serving the site): a company in the United States.

Resend (sending email): a company in the United States.

We share only what is needed to run the Service. As noted above, some information is handled by companies outside Japan.

We do not pass your information to third parties without your consent, except where the law requires it.

We never sell or hand over information for advertising.

We use cookies to keep you logged in and to remember the display language you chose.

We do not use tracking for advertising.

Beetles you set to public, your display name and your profile can be seen by anyone.

Your email address is never made public.

We keep it for as long as your account exists.

Messages sent through the contact form are deleted about one year after they are dealt with.

You may ask to see, correct, delete, or stop the use of your own information. Please write to us through the contact form.

Account deletion is handled through the same channel. We may ask you to confirm who you are.

Where a record forms part of a beetle's history — for example a beetle you have transferred to someone else — that part may remain, with your name removed, so that the chain of history stays unbroken.

This policy may change. When it does, the last-updated date on this page will be revised.
